FINALLY, BROTHERS, GOODBYE
The Apostle Paul had a special relationship with the church in Corinth. He founded the church, and maintained a deep connection with them. We know of four separate letters Paul sent to the Corinthians, the second and fourth being found in our Bibles as 1st and 2nd Corinthians.
More than any of his letters, Second Corinthians shows us the heart of Paul as a pastor. In the face of some within the church that created problems and divisions, he laid out his defense, refuting and condemning the false teachers. He also encouraged the faithful to stay committed to the truth and reaffirmed his deep love for them.
It is with great interest, then, that we read “Pastor Paul’s” final remarks to this church he loved so dearly. Found in 2 Corinthians 13:9-11, he begins by saying, “Finally, brothers, goodbye,” and then shares, in a style so typical of Paul, a three-fold conclusion to his ministry to them.
This Sunday, Pastor Tim Satryan will be sharing his final message to Valley Chapel as your pastor, drawing upon Paul’s final remarks to the Corinthian church. The eternal truths found in this passage are just as applicable to us today as they were when Paul penned them under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
You are invited to join us at TLC Valley Chapel for Pastor Tim’s final message, “Finally, Brothers, Goodbye.”
